Google's Wael Ghoneim, who has become a symbolic figure of the country's political uprising, will be released by Egyptian authorities, announced Egyptian telecom billionaire Naguib Sawiris. Ghoneim is Google's head of marketing for the Middle East and Africa.
Sawiris, who made the announcement on his OTV television station, said he and others held talks with Egpytian Vice President Omar Suleiman over the weekend and the vice president ultimately agreed to release Ghoneim.
